Integrated ATPL(A) course crafted for aspiring pilots with little or no prior experience. This all-encompassing program takes you through a series of engaging modules, equipping you with the knowledge and skills needed to soar to new heights in the aviation industry.

Upon Completion

Upon successful completion, you'll graduate with a frozen ATPL(A) license and an EASA Commercial Pilot License CPL(A) with Single Engine (SEP), Multi-Engine (MEP), and Instrument (IR) Ratings. This opens the door to a world of opportunities, allowing you to kickstart your career as a commercial pilot on passenger or cargo aircraft.

The ATPL Theoretical Knowledge training is an intensive full-time 10-month course at our training center in Reykjavik. The program combines classroom instruction and computer-based study with our experienced instructors.

The course is structured into manageable subject areas, covering the regulatory ATPL theory exams necessary for obtaining a license. Upon successful completion of the EASA ATPL ground school theory exams, you'll be well-prepared to embark on a career as a commercial airline pilot.

  • No, prior experience is required to start the integrated ATPL course. 

  • After successfully completing the integrated program, you will graduate with the following certificates and qualifications:

    • EASA CPL(A) | Commercial Pilot License

  • Portugal's stable weather minimizes disruptions, providing students with consistent flight training, potentially reducing the need for additional flight hours due to fewer refresh flights. Training in Iceland can be great, but the weather can be unpredictable and the summers here are short. By moving the flight training to Portugal, we have eliminated that problem.

    Sevenair Academy is a flight school with a long history. It was established in 1980 in Portugal and is considered one of the leading aviation training centres in Europe. It's part of the Sevenair Group which among other companies has its own airline, maintenance and handling companies. The school has trained over 6000 aviatio professionals and the numbers continue to grow.

  • The training takes place in Reykjavík, Iceland and Ponte de Sor in Portugal. Phase one  of the course (theoretical training) is the ground school which takes place in Reykjavík, Iceland. 

    The second phase (flight training) takes place in Portugal and the final phase, which is the APS MCC course, takes place in Reykjavík, Iceland. 

  • The training is designed to take 2 years to complete from start to finish, subject to no retakes or additional required flight times.

    Ground School: 40 weeks

    Flight Training: 52 weeks

    APS MCC: 4 weeks

    *This is an estimate and is based on the minimum flight hours and training time required. 

    ** The maximum duration for an integrated ATPL course is 36 months.

     

  • Yes, accommodation and full board is included for a period of 12 months. 

  • Yes there is. The minimum attendance is 90%.

  • No, the lectures will not be recorded.

  • We cannot ban you to do so, but we highly recommend that you do not because this is a full time fast paced course. It is expected that the students will be available when booked for flights and simulator sessions. 

  • The Integrated ATPL course is eligible for loans from the Student Loan Fund in accordance with its rules.

  • For PPL(A) or PPL(H) holders who apply for the integrated ATPL course, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) licensing regulations will be applied. According to the EASA regulation, a PPL (A) or PPL (H) holder, 50% of the hours flown prior to the course shall be credited, up to a maximum of 40 hours flying experience, or 45 hours if an aeroplane night rating has been obtained, of which up to 20 hours may count towards the requirement for dual instruction flight time.

     

    As it varies between PPL holders when they obtained their license and how much flight experience they hold the actual crediting of flight time will always be based on an evaluation flight conducted at the beginning of the flight training with Sevenair Academy in Portugal. The number of hours credited will be then be converted to Euros (€) in accordance with Sevenair‘s Academy pricelist and discounted from the total price.

Entry Criteria

​To enroll on our Integrated ATPL course you will need to meet the following entry criteria:

  • Age
    Prospective students must be at least 18 years old at the time courses start

  • Education
    A secondary school education is required.

  • Sevenair Academy Assessment
    Successfully pass the assessment. The assessment is comprised of computer-based aptitude testing, personality questionnaire, cognitive reasoning, control and coordination, maths & physics, English language and competency based interviews
